Workout Hero RPG Privacy Policy
Workout Hero RPG (“the app”) is a fitness RPG published as an independent project. This policy describes what the app accesses on your device and what, if anything, leaves your device. It is written for App Store and Google Play review as well as for players.
Who we are
The developer is an individual. Contact: skippy565@gmail.com.
Data stored on your device
Character progress, workouts, walks, quests, journal entries, body metrics (optional height, weight history, gender), settings, and similar game state are stored locally on your phone (for example in app storage / AsyncStorage). This data is not uploaded to a Workout Hero game server. There is no Workout Hero account and no social graph in the current version.
Health and fitness data
If you grant permission, the app reads step count and walking distance from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) so walks and daily activity can appear in the game. The app does not sell health data. The current version is not intended to write workouts, heart rate, or other records back to Apple Health or Health Connect.
Health permission is optional. You can use workouts without connecting Health. You can revoke access in iOS Settings → Health, or in Health Connect on Android.
Location
If you start a walk with location enabled, the app uses GPS to estimate distance while the walk is in progress. Background location is used only to continue an active walk if you leave the app. Location is not used to profile you, is not sent to a Workout Hero backend, and is not required to log a workout.
Advertising
The app shows silent visual banner ads through Google AdMob. Ads do not play audio and the current version does not show interstitial (full-screen) ads. Google may collect a device advertising identifier and standard ad-request information under Google’s privacy policy.
Paid ad-free plans are not sold in the current version. If in-app purchases are added later, Apple or Google will process payment; this policy will be updated first.
Notifications
Optional notifications can alert you to a walk encounter. Tokens and delivery are handled by the operating system / Expo push infrastructure. You can disable notifications in system settings.
Children
Workout Hero RPG is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Retention and deletion
Local game data remains until you delete the app or clear its storage. Uninstalling removes on-device game data. Health and location access end when you revoke permission or uninstall.
Your choices
- Deny or revoke Health, location, and notification permissions.
- Limit ad tracking in iOS Settings or Android ads / privacy settings.
- Email skippy565@gmail.com with privacy questions.
Changes
If the app starts using a backend, analytics, or in-app purchases, this policy will be updated and the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
